TREE OF LIFE:

TAPESTRY BUILDING + PATCHWORK HEALING

sponsored by tufts hillel

fall 2018

In the aftermath of the massacre at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, I felt moved to process and grieve with my hands. With the support of Tufts Hillel, I facilitated a space for students and community members of all backgrounds to build a tapestry out of fabric scraps, yarn, buttons, paper, and other ephemera. The tapestry is currently hanging in the Mayer Campus Center where passersby are invited to write reflections on fabric leaves and pin them to the tree.
